J. Graybill Hollinger, 95, lifelong farmer, attended Lititz COB, Ephrata Cloister volunteer

J. Graybill Hollinger, 95, of Brethren Village, passed away Dec. 12, 2014 at Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Harry and Laura Graybill Hollinger. The husband of Dorothy Mae Metzler Hollinger, they shared 50 years of marriage.

A graduate of Rothsville High School, Graybill’s life as a farmer was a labor of love. Following his retirement he continued to garden and enjoyed sharing his vegetables with friends and family. Graybill attended the Lititz Church of the Brethren and enjoyed volunteering at the Ephrata Cloister.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Leigh Walton, husband of Donna, Lanham, Md.; Dwight Walton, husband of Debra, Lititz; Donna Walton-Gibbs, wife of Jerry, Lancaster; Mark Walton, husband of Darlyne, Ligonier, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a niece: Connie Hollinger of Painesville, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by a son: Larry Walton; and siblings: Morgan and Grace Hollinger.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Graybill’s life will be held at the Chapel at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. There will be a visitation held 30 minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Graybill may be made to Lancaster County Conservancy, 117 S. West End Ave., PO Box 716, Lancaster, PA 17608.
