Helen S. Smith, Matthew 25 volunteer, poet, avid reader, enjoyed traveling

Helen S. Smith, of Lititz, went home to be with The Lord on May 1, 2018.

She was married to the late William W. Smith who passed away in 2005.

She loved attending church and was of the Christian faith. She was known for the vast amount of poetry she had written. She volunteered at Matthew 25 Thrift Store in Lititz for 17 years, was an avid reader and also enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: William G. Smith and Donna Smith, of Millersville; two grandchildren: Jason M. and wife Michelle Smith; and Tess A. Smith, all of Colorado; and great-grandson: Kilian Zane Smith.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, are her mother: Esther M. Shenberger; and her father: Charles M. Shenberger; sisters: Gladys Hornberger and Ruth Helt; and a brother: Robert Eitnier.

Her life celebration memorial service was held May 7 at Lititz United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jerry McGrath officiating. Burial services were private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen’s honor can be made to Matthew 25, 48 E. Main St., Lititz, PA 17543.
