Goldena N. Houtz, 89, former floor lady at Shoreson Co., enjoyed crafts and yard work

Goldena “Goldie” N. Houtz, 89, of Lititz, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at Colonial Lodge Retirement Community, Denver.

She was born in Manheim Township to the late Daniel and Maude N. (Plank) Ressler and was the wife of the late Harry R. Houtz who passed away in 1989.

Goldie worked as a floor lady at the former Shoreson Company in Brownstown. She enjoyed crafts, doing yard work and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by two step-sons: Kenneth, husband of Judy Houtz of Goshen, Ind.; and Richard, husband of Sandy Houtz of Newark, Del.; two step-daughters: Barbara, wife of Joe Smith of Lancaster; and Donna, wife of Thomas Roth of Ephrata; nine step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Stella Houtz of Lititz.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: John, Paul, Daniel, Henry and Robert Ressler; and five sisters: Anna Hoffman, Blanche Wenger, Maria Stover, Dorothy Stief, and Gladys Ressler.

Services were held Nov. 28 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, with Rev. Walter S. Carter officiating. Interment took place in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster
