Glenn Wilford Steffen, 83, worked in insurance claims, lay leader at Oley Mennonite Church

Glenn Wilford Steffen, 83, of Lititz, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at home.

He was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Kidron, Ohio, to the late David and B. Luella (Geiser) Steffen, and married Marjorie (Mast) Steffen on Sept. 27, 1958.

He graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School (1952); and Eastern Mennonite College (1958), Harrisonburg, Va. He worked in insurance claims for 42 years and was a long-time resident of Oley. As a member of Oley Mennonite Church he served the church actively and faithfully for many years as a lay leader.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by two children: Andrea (Robert) Ganger of Goshen, Ind.; and Roderick (Janice) Steffen of Greeley, Colo.; six grandsons: Benjamin (Alexandria), Zachariah and Nathaniel Ganger; Niklaus, Joseph and Daniel Steffen; four siblings: Mahlon Steffen, John Steffen, Leanne Miller, all of Kidron, Ohio; and Rutheda Yoder of Goshen, Ind.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four siblings: Ernest Steffen, Marilyn Miller, Richard Steffen, and Dorcas Hanbury.

Services were held Oct. 15 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Oley Mennonite Church.
