Glenn L. Buchter76, Brunnerville native, sportsman

Glenn L. Buchter, 76, of Ephrata, went to walk the golden streets of Heaven Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Ephrata Manor.

He was born in Brunnerville to the late Jesse and Laura (Wingenroth) Buchter. Glenn was the husband of Judith (Kilby) Buchter, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Glenn was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ephrata. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying camping, hunting and fishing and also enjoyed micro racing. Glenn helped to build the Mountaineer Kustom Club. During his working years, Glenn worked for Walter W. Moyer, Travis Mills, and Ram Motors and Controls.

In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by three children: Pam Harding, of Ephrata; Mike, husband of Lisa Himes, of Lititz; Carolyn, wife of Douglas Keith, of Ephrata; and five grandchildren: Tammy Wanner, Angela Cabezas, Nolan Himes, Kathryn Keith and Brady Himes; a great-grandson: Evan Wanner; and a sister: Arlene Lease, of Lancaster. Glenn was also a foster parent to many children over the years.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Miriam Metzler.

A funeral was held on May 12 at the First United Methodist Church, Ephrata, with Pastor Walter Carter officiating. Interment took place in the Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery.
