Gerald E. Stine, 83, formerly of Lititz, worked for City of Lancaster, amateur magician

Gerald E. Stine, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sept. 23, 2014 in Lady Lake, Fla. He previously lived on Skylark Lane, Lititz.

Gerald was born in Lancaster on Jan. 27, 1931 and was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Miller) Stine. He was the husband, for 40 years, of the late Mary Jane (Tarbotton) Stine who passed away in January of 2014.

Gerald retired from the City of Lancaster in 2000. He also did side jobs to keep busy. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, serving three and a half years on the high seas. He loved to perform magic tricks and enjoyed playing chess. He also loved to swim and being with people. Gerald was a very jolly person and loved visiting with people.

He is survived by a brother: Donald Stine of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved spending time with and being a mentor to.

He was preceded in death by his sister: Therese Allmond; and two brothers: Albert and James Stine.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Gerald’s Life Celebration graveside service on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 319 Wabash Road, Ephrata, with the Rev. Ron Bohannon officiating. The Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard and Vet 21 Salute Honor Guard will render military Honors.
