Esther R. Hoffer, 91, worked at Lebanon County Library, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crafts

Esther R. Hoffer, 91, of Lititz, and formerly of Lebanon, died peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Conestoga View, Lancaster.

Born in South Annville Township, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Carrie Rank Wenger and a stepdaughter to the late Anna Mae Wenger. Esther was the wife of the late Allen H. Hoffer, who died in 1972.

Esther worked as a library aide for the Lebanon County Library. She was a graduate of the former Messiah Academy. Esther was a member of Landis Valley Christian Fellowship; previously she was a member of Gingrich’s Mennonite Church, Lebanon. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and crafts.

Surviving is a sister: Melinda A., wife of Roger Bomberger, of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is stepson: Blaine Hoffer; two stepdaughters: Almeda Ginder and Mary Dohner; two brothers: Leon and Ralph Wenger; and three sisters: Mabel R. Long, Rachael R. Brownsberger, and Ruth R. Heffley.

Services were held Sept. 27 at Buch Funeral Home, Manheim.
