Elizabeth H. Pierce, 82, Manheim high school custodian, Salem Lutheran member, mother of three

Elizabeth H. “Lizzie” Pierce, 82, of Lititz, passed away at home Friday, Jan. 29, 2016.

Born in Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Landis Huber and Edna Harnish Huber. Lizzie was the loving wife of Jay R. Pierce; they would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in April.

A homemaker, she also worked several years ago as a custodian at Manheim Township High School. Lizzie was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill, and she loved to spend time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters: Nancy Grube; Roseann Pierce, both of Lititz; and Pauline, wife of Glenn Nolt, of Manheim; three grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Betty Anderson of Paradise.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch-Heisey Funeral Home, 216 S. Broad St., Lititz, on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Ephrata.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Lizzie’s memory to the Lititz Fire Company No. 1, P.O. Box 391, Lititz, PA 17543; or Warwick Community Ambulance Association, 151 North Lane, Lititz, PA 17543.
