Elisabeth ‘Lisa’ Wiesner, 90, WWII immigrant, homemaker, great baker and cook, dog lover

Elisabeth “Lisa” Wiesner, 90, formerly of New York City, died peacefully at Moravian Manor Nov. 28, 2014 with loving family at her side.

Born in Sekitsch, Yugoslavia Lisa was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Johanna Bieber Stammler.

After multiple relocations during and subsequent to World War II, Lisa, sponsored by family, immigrated to the United States in 1949. Within two years, she became a United States citizen. Lisa then met her sweetheart, Eric, at a friend’s dinner party. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage.

Lisa loved and cared for her family, spending most of her life as a homemaker. She was of the Lutheran faith. A great baker and cook, she enjoyed sewing, needlework, gardening, dancing, bowling and caring for her pet dogs.

She is survived by her daughter: Elisabeth Margaret, wife of Richard Armellino of Lancaster; and son: Eric Carl Wiesner, husband of Andrea of Naples, Fla. Also surviving are six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a niece: Alwine Zarcone of Spring Hill, Fla.; and a nephew, Erich Schuhay, of Idar Oberstein, Germany.

Lisa is preceded in death by an infant son; an older sister: Veronica Schuhay; a niece: Liane Panasci; and her husband: Eric Paul Wiesner.

Services were held Dec. 13 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, Lititz. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
