Eleanor M. Prince, 80, Pocono East Motel owner, past president of the Columbiettes

Eleanor M. “Ella” Prince, 80, of Manheim, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

Born in Jamaica, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Earl and Helena Flannery Cook. She was the loving wife of Leon E. Prince Sr. They would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in June.

Ella and her husband both retired as owners/operators of the Pocono East Motel, East Stroudsburg. In her earlier years, she worked for the Bursar’s office at St. John’s University, New York. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim. Ella was a faithful and dedicated member of the Columbiettes, where she served as past president for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are four children: Gail, wife of Stephen Orefice, of Putnam Valley, N.Y.; Donna Prince, companion of Karen Dero, of Manheim; Leon E. Jr., husband of Antionette “TJ” Prince, of Bushkill; Michelle Semken of New Cumberland; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Mary, wife of Lester Krumm, of Hershey; and Helena Condello of Mount Pocono.

Services were held March 19 at St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim. Interment was in Silver Spring Cemetery, West Hempfield Township.
