Eleanor C. DiNovis, 94, worked as an R.N. in many settings, an inspiration to all who knew her

Eleanor Catherine DiNovis, 94, passed away on Sept. 5, 2019 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Victor and Rose Greco. She was one of six children. Eleanor was the widow of the late Edward H. DiNovis, who died in 1991. Eleanor and Edward were married for 40 years.

She was a 1947 graduate of Brooklyn State Hospital School of Nursing, from which she received her R.N. designation. She worked as an R.N. for many years and enjoyed a varied career in hospital nursing, industrial nursing, medical office nursing, and school nursing.

She lived a full and happy life and was an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

She is survived by her four children: Stephen, husband of Ann DiNovis; James, husband of Joanne DiNovis; Rosemary Biezad; and Kathryn, wife of Lyle Vestermark; as well as 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister; Lucille Aellen, of Mt. Airy, Md.; and her brother; Anthony Greco, husband of Lorraine, of Malvern N.Y.

Family visitation was held Sept. 7 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Jr. Funeral Home in Lititz, and a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, Lititz. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
