Edna Swan, 96, Lititz, accomplished seamstress who ran antique shop in her home

Edna Swan, 96, of Lititz, passed away May 11, 2014 at Lancashire Hall.

Born in Port Deposit, she was the daughter of the late George and Dora Pickle Schmook. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas A. Swan, and in recent years, her companion, Samuel Kulp.

An accomplished seamstress, Edna made draperies for many homes and corporations in Lancaster County. She enjoyed collecting antiques and in later years opened an antique shop in her home.

Edna is survived by her son: George W. Swan, husband of Susan, Lititz; a stepson: Thomas Swan, Jr., Wrightsville; grandchildren: Jennifer, Anne and George O., partner of Kristy; eight step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Myrtle and Charlotte.

She is preceded in death by two stepdaughters; a stepson; and 6 siblings.

Services were held May 16 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lancaster, with Reverend Craig A. Ross officiating. Interment followed in Byerland Mennonite Cemetery, Willow Street.
