Donna Marie Simpson, 70, worked for the FBI, Manheim Ambulance EMT, enjoyed gardening, the beach

Donna Marie Simpson, 70, of Manheim, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Lancaster General Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Florence Sloan Simpson.

Donna was always a high energy person who enjoyed life, family, friends, and work. After graduating from Ocean City High School she worked for the FBI for 17 years, then joined CoreStates Bank where she worked in the security department for many years prior to joining McKesson Corp., from which she retired in 2012.

Donna was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim, where she was in the choir and a eucharistic minister. She volunteered as an EMT for the Manheim Ambulance Association for more than 20 years, and the Lancaster General Hospital. Donna was also a member of the Manheim Lions Club. Her interests included gardening, traveling to the beach and spending time with her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her brother-in-law: Francis Ward.

Surviving are three siblings: Dolores Ward of Drexel Hill; Jacqueline Caroccio (Robert) of Ocean City, N.J.; and John C. Simpson (Dorothy) of Virginia Beach, Va.; 12 nieces and nephews; 32 great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim, on Nov. 22. Interment was private.
