Deaths of Local Interest – May 8, 2014

H. Pauline (Horning) Bowman, 88, last residing at Garden Spot Village, New Holland, passed away peacefully in her sleep April 25. She was a member of Garden Spot Village Chapel. Her sister, Carolyn Unruh (wife of John), resides in Lititz.

H. Vincent Eby, 90, of Gordonville, formerly of Gap, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital May 5. worked for International Mill Service of Coatesville for over 30 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Cochranville Golden Agers and was a 50+ year member of the Salisbury Township Lions Club of which he was a past president. His daughter, Dona, wife of Jeffery Barrall, lives in Lititz.

Ethel (Richardsen) Gustafson, 91, of Lititz, died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Landis Homes. Arrangements by Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory. Visit snyderfuneralhome.com.

Raymond E. “Ray” Hargraves Sr., 87, of Woodcrest Villa, Lancaster and formerly of Manheim, passed away April 29 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Ray worked part-time at Longenecker’s Hardware, Manheim. He was an avid fisherman and upon retirement started a successful woodcrafting business. Surviving are daughters, Judith, wife of Gregory Burkholder, and Brenda, wife of Rickey Cantrell, both of Manheim. His son, Raymond E., Jr. (“Gene”), husband of Michelle Johnson Hargraves, lives in Lititz.

Paul W. Leid, 85, of 905 Centerville Rd., New Holland died Friday, May 2, 2014 at his home. Paul was a retired farmer and a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. His sister, Emma, married to Willis Nolt, lives in Lititz.

Jodi Rinier-Butler, 49, formerly of Strasburg and Philadelphia, died unexpectedly of natural causes at Murrells Inlet, S.C., April 26. Jodi was a Paramedic with the Philadelphia Fire Department and worked in the Emergency Room at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She enjoyed going to the beach and the Chesapeake Bay. A sister, Connie, married to James Rice, lives in Lititz.

Jane M. Siegrist, 90, of Lancaster, passed away 2 at Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg. Jane was the loving wife of Clarence S. Siegrist and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2013. Jane worked for Wilbur Chocolate, and shared farming with her husband.
