Deaths of Local Interest – May 24, 2018

Emlen R. Buller Sr., 87, of Mount Joy, passed away May 4 at Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Emlen worked as a painter for many years at various companies. He was a lifetime member at the Dela-Ches Fishing Association. Emlen enjoyed hunting, fishing and growing flowers.His half-brother, David E. Buller, lives in Manheim.

Suzanne Louise Boyer Furlow, 69, died May 17 after a valiant three-year battle with breast cancer. Suzanne was a member of LancasterHistory.org. She wrote and published three books detailing the burials at Cedar Hill, Mount Zion Evangelical, and Bergstrasse Lutheran cemeteries. Suzanne loved reading and learning. She loved walks in the woods, sunsets, robins chirping, listening to the breeze through the trees, and all beautiful things. But her greatest love in her life was her family. She liked everyone and made everyone laugh. A sister, Rebecca, wife of Dennis L. Ocker, and a nephew, Adam Ocker, all live in Lititz.

June D. Nies, 93, of Lancaster, passed away on May 15 at Conestoga View. June enjoyed life and the simple things. She found joy in drawing pictures, bowling and playing games, especially Parcheesi and Bingo. June easily made friends wherever she lived with her unique sense of humor and heart of gold. Her nephew, Bill Nies, lives in Lititz resident.
