Deaths of Local Interest – June 6, 2019

Warren B. Boll, 87, of Ephrata, passed away May 29 at Fairmount Homes. He was a member of Stumptown Mennonite Church. Warren worked for Martin’s Stone and High Steel before retiring. He then worked part-time for Oregon Dairy in maintenance. A sister, Verna, wife of Samuel Brubaker, resides in Manheim. A sister, Martha B., wife of Dr. Marlin Nissley, lives at Landis Homes, Lititz.

Warren R. Mowery, 81, formerly of Salunga, passed away May 29 at Lancaster General Hospital. Warren retired from National Bearings Company in Lancaster after 37 years of service. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Warren was a member of Lancaster Church of the Brethren and the Fairview Tavern darts team. His son, Robert J. Mowery, husband of Barbara, lives in Manheim.

J. William “Bill” Rider, 90, Columbia, formerly of Mount Joy, died unexpectedly after a brief illness at the Lebanon VA Medical Center on May 30. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a long-time employee for the Borough of Mount Joy before retiring as borough superintendent. He enjoyed hunting, and camping with his family in Potter County and Ocean City, Md. He will be remembered as a kind and loving father. A brother, John, husband of Barbara Rider, lives in Lititz.
