Deaths of Local Interest – Feb. 7, 2019

Sharon F. Bollinger, 67, of Ephrata, passed away Jan. 29 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. She was a lifetime member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene. Sharon was an administrative assistant for IT department of Ephrata High School for more than 35 years. She loved the beach, especially the Outer Banks, and her family. She was very involved with her grandkids. She was on the Ephrata Fair Sheep Committee and a leader of the 4H Woolies club. Her son, Keith D. Bollinger, lives in Manheim.

Jonathan Landis Horst, 66, of Robesonia, passed away Jan. 29 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Jonathan was a self-employed restoration contractor, a job he truly loved. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid arrowhead hunter, fisherman, and an excellent marksman, using this skill to adequately eradicate the ever-growing squirrel population on his property. His daughter-in-law: Amy Weik, fiancée of Shawn Weit, lives in Lititz.

B. Winona (Stauffer) Kreider, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Feb. 1 at home. Winona was a member of Muddy Creek Mennonite Church, Hope Mennonite Fellowship. She taught first grade in the Manor School District and later at Pleasant Valley Mennonite School, Ephrata. A mother of five, she was a secretary for many years for the family business. A daughter, Amy L. married to Glenn Martin; and a brother, B. Leon, married to Nancy (Shenk) Stauffer, live in Manheim.
