Deaths of Local Interest – April 20, 2016

Lloyd A. Eaby, 90, died April 17 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Formerly of Ephrata, he served in World War II with Merrill’s Marauders in the China Burma India theater in the 613th Artillery Division of the Mars Task Force. Lloyd was the owner of Lloyd Eaby Auto Body Shop in Ephrata. His brother, W. Leon Eaby, lives in Lititz.

Emma A. Lauver, 79, of Ephrata, went home to be with the Lord April 14, at her home, surrounded by family. She was a member of the Centerville Mennonite Church, Martindale. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and was a faithful friend to many. Her son, James M., husband of Ruth G. (Oberholtzer) Lauver; and a sister-in-law, Vera Martin, all live in Lititz.

Mary A. Ludwig, 90, formerly of Ephrata, died April 17 in Ephrata Manor. A member of St. John’s Center UCC, East Earl, she retired from Loungewear Manufacturing, Hinkletown. Mary loved sewing, crocheting, flower gardening and word puzzles. Her daughter, Cynthia J., wife of Randy Gilbert, resides in Lititz.

George W. Raynor II, 67, of Stevens, passed away April 12 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. He was a Navy veteran who served two tours during Vietnam on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. A top-notch handyman, George also worked as a communications technician for Verizon. He was also an avid woodworker, hunter, and fisherman. His daughter, Jennifer, wife of David Avery, resides in Lititz.
