Deaths of Local Interest – May 11, 2017

James Haldeman, 67, of Leola, died May 2 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. James worked in the construction industry. He was a member of the New Holland Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed going to Penn National Race Course. He was a lifelong friend of the Blank family. Sisters, Betty Jane, wife of Kenneth Crills, and Janet, wife of Lloyd Ebersole, reside in Manheim.

James William Lohr, 90, of Highlands Ranch, Colo., formerly of Lancaster, died April 25 at Littleton Hospital. He was employed by the Heil Company of Lancaster and Ross Engineering of Leola. He served with the 5th Rescue Squadron of the United States Army Air Corps in World War II. Jim was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Lancaster, and a member of the American Legion Post 56 of Lititz, where he played golf with the Seniors of Lebanon Valley. He was also a member of the Senior Group at Four Seasons Golf Course.

Charles W. “Chuck” Mundorff Jr., 64, of Mount Joy, died April 30. He was married to Jackie L. (Rapp) Mundorff on May 31, 1991; she survives. His sister, Carol A. Stetler, wife of Jan, lives in Lititz.

Helen (Huber) Pries, 97, of Conestoga, entered into rest May 2 at Hamilton Arms, Lancaster. A Christian, Helen was an active long-time member of the Colemanville United Methodist Church, Conestoga, where she was a member since 1942. Her sister, Kathryn Buckwalter, lives in Manheim.

William Harley Roberts, 75, of Lewistown, passed away May 2 at his home. William was self-employed as a glass-blower for most of his life. Later in his career he was employed by Conestoga Wood Products as a woodworker. In his free time, he loved camping and playing cards. His son, Jason Fox Roberts, and companion Courtney, live in Manheim.
