Deaths of Local Interest – March 23, 2017

Miriam Elizabeth Blank LeFever, of East Petersburg, went home to be with her Lord on March 15. She was a charter member of the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society and the East Petersburg Historical Society. Her deepest joy was working with the Mennonite Central Committee, based in Akron. She enjoyed collecting colored glass, especially blue Depression ware. Her son, Kenn, married to Carolyn Ruth Packer LeFever, resides in Manheim.

Frances M. Martin, 88, of East Earl, formerly of Amishtown Road, passed away March 16 at Fairmount Homes after a brief illness. She was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. Three of her step-children live in Lititz: Henry R., husband of Martha (Sauder) Martin; Mary R., wife of Titus Zimmerman; and Anna R., wife of Ammon Weaver.

Mazie Elizabeth Robinson, infant daughter of Jeremy and Amanda (Rickenbach) Robinson, of Ephrata, passed away March 15 at Women and Babies Hospital. Her paternal grandmother, Bonnie Robinson, companion of Brian Weaver, lives in Lititz.

Larry H. Yarnell, 74, of Washburn, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Feb. 19 at Ridgeview Terrace of Life Care in Rutledge, Tenn. He was born and raised in Ephrata. Larry was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He loved Jesus, his church and his family. His sister, Judy Horning, resides in Lititz.
