David M. Taylor Jr., 84, Army vet, Taylor’s Remodeling owner, enjoyed fishing, motorcyling

David M. Taylor Jr., 84, of Lititz, departed this life on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Lancashire Hall, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late David Taylor Sr. and Aquilla (Kennedy) Taylor. He was the loving husband of Dorothy V. Taylor, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.

After graduating from high school, David honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. David was an entrepreneur, owning his own contracting company called Taylor’s Remodeling. He loved his career in construction, and when not working, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching football, fishing on his boat and riding motorcycles. David lived a beautiful life.

In addition to his wife: Dorothy; David is survived by his children: David Taylor III; Reggie Austin; Damita Love; Mark Woods Sr.; Derrick Williams; Aquilla Taylor; Ruth Talton, wife of Carl Talton Jr.; David Taylor IV; and Joe Taylor. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his son: Keith Taylor; sisters: Joan Lawrence, Ruth Moody, Catherine Sutton, and Hortense Ronaldo; and brothers: Maxwell Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Jonny Dredd.

David’s going home service was held Aug. 20 Bright Side Baptist Church, Lancaster. Interment followed at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
