Darryl W. Ingersoll, 76, Evergreen Golf Course greenskeeper, artist, Chicago Bears fan

Darryl W. Ingersoll, 76, of Manheim, passed away Oct. 12, 2017, at Mount Joy Hospice, surrounded by loving family.

Darryl was born March 10, 1941, in Quincy, Ill., to the late Carl D. Sr. and Lorraine E. Ingersoll.

He married Judith (Anders) at First Christian Church in East Moline, Ill., in 1962. He and his beloved wife recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.

He was an avid golfer, bowler, artist, and devoted Chicago Bears fan. Retiring in 2004, Darryl sought a new career at Evergreen Golf Course in Manheim as a greenskeeper. What was supposed to be another notch on the ladder became a passion and a foundation for some of Darryl’s best kept friendships. A hard worker and a man of many talents, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons: Bradley, of Manheim, and Jody (Karie) of New Cumberland; eight grandchildren: Shawn (Karly), Toni Marie, Christopher, Gaia (Alan) D’Silva, Jessica, MollieMae, Melissa, and Tracy; nine great-grandchildren: Skylar, Damien, Bella, Raiden, Chloe, Zoe, Annuziatta, Millona, and Marceline; his brother: Carl Ingersoll Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Dennis Ingersoll.

Services were Oct. 21 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Landisville.
