Daniel Earl Toews, 50, went to be with his Lord and Savior Dec. 13, 2014, unexpectedly due to natural causes.

Danny was born Dec. 28, 1963, a son of the late Jacob and Nancy Mae Hevener Toews, and resided in Lititz.

He was a longtime resident of Friendship Community Personal Care Home, but recently moved to the Glen at Willow Valley only months prior to his passing.

He was a member of the Lititz Church of the Brethren. Danny attended Living Word Academy and received his diploma of completion. Following school, he worked at Garden Spot Electric, Stauffers of Kissel Hill, Lancaster Farming newspaper, and Lighthouse Rehabilitation Center.

Danny is survived by three brothers: Richard Toews, Chip (Becky) Toews, and David Toews; two sisters: Peggy (Clyde) Esbenshade, and Nancy (Steve) Graybill; 10 nieces and nephews; one great-niece; and one great-nephew.

Danny’s ministry here on earth was to lift the spirits of others through his genuine love for people. On Dec.13, he was called to a greater ministry, one of communion and fellowship with his Lord. Danny will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends of Danny are invited to attend a celebration of life service at the Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz, on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at 11 a.m., preceded by a viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Longenecker Cemetery.
