Clarence B. Gehman, 97, WWII vet, attended Trinity E.C. Church, father of three

Clarence B. Gehman, 97, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016, at Luther Acres, Lititz.

He was the husband of Margaret (Yost) Gehman, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage on May 1. Born in Bowmansville, he was a son of the late Monroe H. and Mildred B. (Bard) Gehman.

He was an Army Air Force Veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Lititz.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Shirley Ann, wife of William Shimer, Coopersburg; Donna Lee, wife of Mark Aho, Lancaster, and Dawn L., wife of David Hamaty, Hummelstown; two brothers: G. Roger Gehman, Ephrata; and Thomas M. Gehman, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters: Evelyn, wife of Randall Kegerise, Denver; and Marion Lorah, Sinking Spring; and four grandchildren: Andrew Aho, Erin Aho, Kaitlynn Hamaty, and David Tyler Hamaty.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert, Emerson, and Marvin Gehman; and two sisters: Barbara Nelis, and Margaret A. Gehman.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, at Lamm and Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hain’s Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity E.C. Church, 44 E. Orange St., Lititz, PA 17543.
