Clara V. Braucher, 86, Brethren Village resident, was nurse at LGH, sang in church choir

Clara V. Braucher, 86, formerly of Millersville, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Brethren Village Retirement Community, Lancaster. She was the loving wife of the late James N. Braucher.

Born in State Line, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Virginia McCoy.

Clara was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Millersville, where she had been an active member of the church choir.

Mrs. Braucher was a devoted nurse, who was dedicated to her profession and the ability to care for others. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Lancaster General Hospital retiring in 1990. Following retirement, Clara remained active with LGH working for the Child Protect Program and for blood drives until she was 81.

She will be lovingly missed by a daughter: Kathy Berkebile, wife of Paul Berkebile; three grandchildren: Kerri Hample, Scott Berkebile and the Rev. Shawn Berkebile; four great-grandchildren: James and Katelyn Hample and Andrew and Elizabeth Berkebile; and a sister: Susan Daugherty.

She was preceded in death by an infant son: James Kent. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Funeral Services will be held at the Chapel at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, on Friday, May 9 at 11 a.m. with a view one hour prior to the service. Private Interment will be in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
