Bryan R. “Bry” Modica, 45, of Lititz, passed away peacefully at his home March 6, 2015.

He was born and raised on the family dairy farm in West Portal, N.J., moving to Lancaster County in 1994. He was the son of the late Joseph and Marjorie Fleming Modica, also of West Portal, N.J.

Bryan was a very caring, kind, happy kind of guy who loved life, and would do anything for anybody. He loved all kinds of animals, especially his cat, Smokey whom he had for 14 years. His hobbies were collecting antiques and Lionel trains, and he always had a very impressive platform layout all year round on display.

His love for older Chevy trucks and cars was endless. He was so very proud of his 1967 Short Bed Truck. He will be sadly missed by his many relatives and friends both in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

He is survived by a brother: Michael Modica of Bangor, Pa.; and a sister: Linda “Linny” Modica Deibler of Lititz, to whom he was very close.

He loved spending time with his daughter: Ashlee Ann Modica, Phillipsburg, N.J.; and his precious granddaughter: Alayna Marie Modica, whom he adored. She will surely miss her fun, loving Poppy. He was a very special uncle to his three nephews: Ken, Keith, and Mikey; three great-nephews: Evan, Kenny, Russell; two nieces: Melody and Amanda; and two great-nieces: Mia Rose and Samantha.

A brother, Joseph Modica Jr., predeceased him.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The arrangements have been entrusted to Spacht Life Celebration Home.
