Deaths of Local Interest – June 23, 2016

Stephen M. Dunmire, 54, of Ephrata, died unexpectedly June 17 at Ephrata Hospital. He was a junior accountant with Goodhart Sons, Leola. An avid sports fan, specifically of Pittsburgh teams, Penn State, and the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers. He enjoyed camping, Myrtle Beach trips, and family times, especially with his nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard Dunmire, lives in Manheim. A brother, Timothy Dunmire, resides in Lititz.

Stanton L. Harding Sr., 57, of Ephrata, and formerly of Smyrna, Del., passed away June 13 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. He worked in masonry construction and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His sister, Janice, wife of Galeon Brown, lives in Manheim.

Erma Sue Martin, 50, of East Earl, passed away June 13 at home. Erma was a member of Faith Mennonite Fellowship. She was a homemaker, and her love was her family. She enjoyed reading, cooking, cross stitching, sewing, and gardening. Her brother, Carl L., husband of Marilyn Brubaker, lives in Lititz.

Robert G. Mellinger, 85, of Ephrata, passed away June 15 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Bob was the owner/operator of Bob’s American Used Cars for 54 years. Earlier in his career he drove a milk truck, and had helped build the Pennsylvania Turnpike. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mary K., wife of Glen Weaver, resides in Lititz.
