Betty Marie ‘Betz’ Hagy, 91, worked at Sperry New Holland, enjoyed sewing, spending time at the bay

Betty Marie “Betz” Hagy, 91, of Lititz, formerly of Akron, passed away on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Luther Acres.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Charles and Olive (Mogle) Stohler, and was the wife of the late Ralph S. Hagy, who passed away in 2000.

Betz had been a member of Denver Bible Church and Community Church of Oak Orchard, and attended Grace E.C. Church, Ephrata. During her working years, she worked at Hemmerich Industries, Denver and Sperry New Holland. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, music and spending time at the bay.

She is survived by four children: Larry, husband of Sally (Crouse) Hagy of Denver; David Hagy, companion of Season of New Holland; Linda, wife of Dennis Goshert of Delaware; Susan, wife of Frank Sweigart of Denver; five grandchildren: Tim, Michael, Steve, Brad and Holly; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Virginia, wife of Alex Botchoff of Lititz; Carol Ann Rhoat of Ephrata; and one nephew.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a grandson: Jesse; a great-grandson: Jesse; two brothers: Bill and Paul Stohler; and a sister: Olive Keller.

A memorial service was held Aug. 14 at the Luther Acres Chapel, Lititz, with Chaplain Walter Cleckley officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
