She was the loving mother of three children: Amy (Benjamin) Scott, Stephen (Laurie) Leensvaart and Paul (Steffanie) Leensvaart; and cherished grandmother of six: Conner, Landon and Peter Scott; Nathan Leensvaart; and Elsa Beth and Rowan Leensvaart. She was most happy spending quality time with her beloved grandchildren.

Beth was preceded in death by her father: Robert Brink; and mother: Eleanor (Bloem) Brink Kooy; and stepfather: Richard Kooy. She was a sister to: Keith (Joanne) Brink; stepsister to: Doris (Paul) Boer, Jennifer (Timothy) Zoeterman, Richard J. (Karen) Kooy, and the late Jo Ann Kreps.

Beth was born in Chicago, Ill., and graduated from Chicago Christian High School in 1966, and recently reconnected with her classmates at their 50th class reunion.

Beth retired from Landis Valley Museum after 20 years as administrative assistant for the Heirloom Seed Project and the Historic Farm Project. She contributed many additional volunteer hours assisting with special events including preparing horses for local parades, and riding in wagons in period costume.

Beth was a co-founder and charter member of Son Light Bible Church, where she served as an elder, helped coordinate vacation Bible school and other children’s ministries, led the Knit Wits sewing group, and served in other various roles in the church.

Over the years, Beth and her family opened their home to foster more than a dozen infants through Bethany Christian Services. Adoption was very important to Beth, as she and her brother, Keith, were both adopted.

Services were held Nov. 25 at Son Light Bible Church, Lancaster, with Pastor Michael Nolt officiating. Interment followed at the Long Memorial United Methodist Church cemetery.
