Audrey E. Whitehead, 77, long-time hair stylist and beautician, member of Lititz UMC

Audrey E. Hummer Whitehead, 77, of Lititz, passed away Jan. 2 after battling 40 years of cancer.

Born in Shellsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Schoffstall) Hummer. Audrey has been blessed to share 20 years with companion, Bob Putt.

Audrey was a member of the Lititz United Methodist Church. She was a self employed hair stylist for 51 years which made it possible to work from home and be close to her family. Audrey enjoyed working with Mary Kay and Aloette Cosmetics. She was an inspiration to everyone she met. Audrey was beautiful both inside and out.

Audrey is survived by children: Rick, Chicago; Bonnie, married to Dan Stewart, Lititz; and Dwayne, married to Tammy (Strantz) Whitehead, Lititz; grandchildren: Shaun Whitehead, Lancaster; Todd Webb, married to Kendra (Hartman) Webb, Reading; Tiffany (Webb) Rutt, married to David Rutt, Lititz; James L. Whitehead, Lititz; Lyndsey Whitehead, Lititz; step-granddaughter: Stacy Stewart, Lemoyne; and great-granddaughter Bree Whitehead.

A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held Friday, Jan. 16, 4 to 6 p.m. at the Lititz United Methodist Church,201 Market S., Lititz, followed by her funeral service at 6 p.m. Audrey always loved beautiful, bright colors. Guests are encouraged to wear happy, bright-colored clothing. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
