Anthony A. Ziesemer, 73, self-employed tractor tire repairman, father of nine

Anthony A. Ziesemer, 73, of Lititz, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Fairmount Homes.

He was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisc., to the late Alfred Ziesemer and Louella (Briggs) Payne; and was the husband of Barbara Ann (Mellinger) Ziesemer, with whom he just celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 5.

Anthony attended Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church. He was self employed as a tractor tire repairman.

In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by two sons: Nathan, husband of Cathy Ziesemer, of Ephrata; David, husband of Shannon Ziesemer, of Blountstown, Fla.; six daughters: Anna, wife of Brett Hall, of Reamstown; Esther, wife of David Leisey, of Lititz; Lois, wife of Eddie Stauffer, of Beavertown; Rachel, wife of Michael Quan, of California; Rhoda, wife of Nelson Snyder, of Leola; Ruth Ziesemer of Lititz; 24 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers: Alfred Ziesemer; Terry Ziesemer of Tulsa, Okla.; Joseph Ziesemer of Missouri; Charles Ziesemer of Dover, Del.; five sisters: Lois McCampbell of Zion, Ill.; Teresa Miller of Bridgeville, Del.; Rose Marten of Ladysmith, Wisc.; Kathy (Charles) Baker of Lancaster; and Delores Downs of Milton, Del.; beloved foster mom: Doreen Martin of Ladysmith, Wisc.; 10 foster siblings: Gloria (Hubert) Moore, Jan (Janet) Martin, Jeff Martin, all of Ladysmith, Wisc.; Randy (Lynn) Martin of Cameron, Wisc.; Brent (Rose) Martin of Amery, Wisc.; Linda (Ron) Kurtz of Goshen, Ind.; Bruce (Jewel) Martin of Ypsilanti, Mich.; Gayle (Les) Hochstetter of Ogema, Minn.; Candy (Joe) Yoder of Hayward, Wisc.; and Laurie (Brian) Barker of Council Bluff, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by the greatest foster dad and friend: Lyle Martin; a son: Jonathan Ziesemer; two foster brothers: Larry Wayne Martin, Jon Alan Martin; and a foster sister: Debbie Sue Martin.

Services were held June 7 at Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Bishop Larry Weaver officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery.
