Annette R. Nation, 90, Moravian Manor resident, WWII vet, avid golfer, curler, devoted mother

Annette R. Nation, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away Feb. 25, 2015 at Moravian Manor at the age of 90.

She was married for 66 years to Robert F. Nation, who died in 2012. Born in Denver, she was the daughter of Jacob H. and Mabel Mae Roppold Mumma.

Annette attended Elizabethtown College before serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She excelled in college basketball, earning a place in the Elizabethtown College Athletic Hall of Fame. In addition, she was an avid golfer and a former member of the Hershey Country Club curling team. But most of all, she was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family.

Annette is survived by two children: Susan Collins of Lititz, wife of Dennis Collins; David Nation of Philadelphia, husband of Suzan Willcox; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A sister: Betty Griswold; and a brother: Robert Mumma, preceded her in death.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of south wing at Moravian Manor, who gave exceptional care to Annette.

Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
