Anna Mae Rose, 85, Moravian Manor nurse’s aide, Scout leader, collected salt and pepper shakers

Anna Mae Rose, 85, of Manheim passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

Born in Salem, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Sylvia Boyles Warden. She was the wife of the late Harlan W. Rose Sr., who died in 2000.

Anna retired as a nurse’s aide at Moravian Manor, Lititz. She also worked for Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Pleasant View Retirement Community, both in Manheim; and for the Manheim Central School District as a cafeteria worker. Anna was a former member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. In her earlier years, she volunteered at the Nearly-Nu Thrift Shop and Manheim Meals on Wheels. Anna was also a former Brownie leader, Cub Scout den mother, assistant pack leader, and enjoyed helping with the Girl Scouts. Her interests included flower gardening, collecting elephants, and salt and pepper shakers.

Surviving are three children: Kathi Jo, wife of William Robinson, of Jonestown; Harlan W. Jr., husband of Linda Caswell Rose; and Steven W. Rose, both of Manheim; two grandchildren: Shannon and Kelly Rose.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Norma Jean Ryan; and a brother: Robert Warden Jr.

Services were held Jan. 17 at Buch Funeral Home, Manheim. Interment was in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township.
