Anna M. Witmer, 85, homemaker, Evangelical UMC member, enjoyed word puzzles

Anna M. Witmer, 85, of Lititz, formerly of Springville Road, East Earl and New Holland, died Monday, April 23, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born in Long Branch, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Aaron and Anna M. (Buck) Martin. Her first husband, Jason Bair, died in 1966; and her second husband, Leon H. Witmer, died in 1998.

Anna was a homemaker and a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in New Holland. She enjoyed word puzzles, playing cards, and reading her devotions.

Surviving is a son: Douglas R. Bair, companion of Tracey Smith of Ephrata; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters: Carol J. Arment of Lancaster; and Judy A., married to David Lumble of Honey Brook; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister: Rose, married to Richard Keller of Lancaster; and a brother: Charles, married to Joyce Martin of Lancaster.

Preceding her in death is a daughter: Bonnie Burkholder; two sons: Robert L. and Dennis J. Bair; and a stepdaughter: Linda L. Witmer.

Funeral services were held April 27 at Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland. Interment was in the Evangelical United Methodist Cemetery.
