Alice Hinkle Stiely, 100, teacher at McCann School of Business, St. Peter’s Lutheran member

Alice Hinkle Stiely, 100, of Lititz, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Moravian Manor.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Alice Wismer Hinkle. She was married to the late Clement J. Stiely who died in 1983.

She was a graduate of McCann School of Business and taught at the school for several years. In 1954, she moved to Lancaster where she taught preschool at St. Peter’s Church School from 1964 to 1994 in Lancaster. Alice was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster.

She is survived by her son: Clement, husband of Anne Stiely Jr. of Dekalb, Ill.: two grandchildren: Sarah, wife of Jeff Golden; and John Stiely; and three great-grandchildren: Sean, Sadie and Alyssa.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Greta Hinkle, Sarah Hollingsworth, and Louise Stokes; and two brothers: Roswell and Norwood Hinkle.

A private family interment will be held at a later date.
