Albert B. Stief, 78, worked at Sensenich Propeller, father of two, NASCAR fan, enjoyed fishing

Albert B. Stief, 78, of Ephrata, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Rothsville to the late Albert and Kathryn (Carpenter) Stief, and was the husband of Shirley (Knoll) Stief, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Albert worked as a propeller manufacturer for Sensenich Propeller. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and watching NASCAR; and his favorite drink was a shot of Kessler’s.

In addition to his wife, Albert is survived by a daughter: Bonnie Shepp, fiancée of Stan Kulikowski Jr., of Lititz; a son: Rick, husband of Tammy (Sweigart) Stief, of Ephrata; four grandchildren: Dustin, Stephanie, Cody, and Stacey; two sisters: Audrey Adams of Rothsville; and Kathy, wife of Thomas Adams, of Lititz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Jack, Robert, Edward, and Richard Stief.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth St., Akron. An additional viewing will be held Friday, July 29, from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Walter Carter officiating. Interment will take place in the Rothsville Lutheran Cemetery.
