Taste of Lititz returns June 7

Sponsored by Listrak, Venture Lititz will present its sixth annual Taste of Lititz on Friday, June 7 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The entire event is a fundraiser for Venture Lititz, and all proceeds go towards supporting community programming.

Tickets gain admission to the event where, on a pay as you go format, guests can try tasty delights from over 25 restaurants and food related businesses in the Lititz area, as well as adult beverages from local breweries, wineries, and distilleries.

Slate Cafe returns yet again this year for the 6th annual Taste of Lititz which takes place June 7.

“Tastes” from vendors range in price from $2 to $5.

This year, organizers say that guests can look forward to more entertainment, vendors and games than in previous years.

“This is our community festival highlighting what makes this town so great,” said Holly DeKarske, executive director of Venture Lititz. “(It’s) just a great evening to experience the great things about Lititz and meet up with your neighbors and friends.”

Tickets also entitle holders access to a variety of musical acts in multiple locations, area artist demonstrations, and several family-friendly games hosted by local nonprofits.

Students from the Hooley School of Irish Dance will also be dancing and giving demonstrations throughout the evening. Musical acts this year include the Lititz Community Band, the Warwick High School Jazz Band, The Warwick High School String Quartet, Steel Radiance, and Mockingbird Duo.

Also performing that evening will be Dutchy Funk, which, according to member Todd Fulginiti, is “a New Orleans style brass band in the style of groups like Rebirth Brass Band and The New Orleans Night Crawlers.”

“We just all love that sound and thought it would be fun to put a group together to play that type of street music,” Fulginiti said. “But since none of us are from New Orleans, we picked a name that reflects Lancaster County. Our band size and instrumentation changes a bit from gig to gig, but at Taste Of Lititz, we’ll have trumpet, two trombones, bass and drums.”

Catch this unique lineup of musicians meandering through the streets of Lititz that evening.
In addition to food, drink, and music, guests can also experience artisans who will share their crafts. Woodworking, pottery, printing, encaustics, a weaver, and rug making will all be represented.

The Lititz Art Association will also be present that evening. They will be sponsoring an auction, as well as displaying their works of art.

Adult tickets for attendees ages 13 and older are $5. Tickets for children ages 3 and under are free, and children ages 4 to 12 are $2. Tickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite.com or in person at Aaron’s Books, The General Sutter Hotel, Hotel Rock Lititz, and Danner’s Deli. Tickets will also be available at the gate on the day of the event while they last.

Taste of Lititz is held rain or shine.
