It takes a lot of sauerkraut to satisfy the crowd at the Lititz COB New Year’s Eve pork and sauerkraut buffet dinner. Terry Ross is shown ladling it out in this photo from earlier in the decade.

Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., will hold its 20th annual pork and sauerkraut buffet on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1.

This one-time-through buffet will include roast pork, hot dogs (for the kids), sauerkraut, real mashed potatoes, applesauce, rolls, and dessert. The buffet will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until the food runs out. The cost of the meal is $12 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-11, and free for children under 4. Take-outs will be available beneath the carport at the rear of the church.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the church’s Youth Foundation Fund. These monies help to send the church’s youth to their denomination’s National Youth Conference (held every four years), and help fund mission trips and work camps to locations throughout the United States.

Live entertainment will be provided in the church’s sanctuary. Various musicians from the church will be sharing their musical talents for pre and post-dinner listening pleasure from 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Handicrafts will be sold in the gathering area of the church.

Tickets for the buffet may be purchased at McElroy’s Pharmacy, Bomberger’s store, the church office, or at the door. For more information about the event, contact the church office at 717-626-2131.
