Historical Foundation fundraiser revisits 1956

Footage was recently re-discovered of the 1956 Lititz Bicentennial celebration. Filmed in full color, it showcases the people, events, buildings, parade, and many scenes of downtown Lititz during the 1956 event.

According to Lititz Historical Foundation President, Cory Van Brookhoven, the footage was actually shown once, back in the 1980s, as  part of the foundation’s annual meeting.

Orders are now being accepted for DVD copies of the footage. The running time of the video is approximately one hour and three minutes. The film does not contain sound.

Copies are available for $12 in the Lititz Historical Foundation’s gift shop beginning May 12. Orders by mail are also accepted by visiting the “events” tab at lititzhistoricalfoundation.com.

All proceeds benefit the Lititz Historical Foundation. Some stills from the DVD are pictured below:
