Help Chuckie’s legacy live on

Beverly Magee, mother of Chuckie Magee, who won the heart of many local residents throughout his all-too-short life, is in the process of soliciting sponsors to continue the challenger flag football and cheerleading league at United Disability Services.

Eight years ago, Chuckie’s family decided to start a program and contacted many organizations, UDS decided to take on the challenge of trying to start a league for special needs individuals. In eight years the league has grown tremendously.

The next season of challenger flag football is being dedicated to Chuckie Magee, who passed away from bone cancer on May 20. Beverly is hoping to carry on Chuckie’s legacy and is soliciting for sponsors.

“My son had impacted many lives,” Beverly said, “and this is part of why the season is dedicated in his honor this year.”

Several types of sponsorships are available:

$7,000 honorary sponsorship — Donors will receive two tickets to the Expanding Horizons gala in May, a invitation to the Innovation Circle celebration, which honors those who have given generously. The donor company’s logo will appear on all players’ jerseys; and donor company’s honorary signage will appear at each game, and the celebration banquet at the end of the season. Donor company will be mentioned in all press releases and marketing materials, and the company’s logo will appear on the UDS website with a link to the company’s homepage. The company will have the opportunity to have a company representative address an audience at the UDS banquet.

$1,000 presenting sponsorship — Company’s presenting logo will be on all players jerseys, and company’s presented signage will appear at each game and celebration banquet at the end of the season. Company will be mentioned in all press releases and marketing materials, with a company logo the UDS website with a link to the company’s homepage. The company can have a a representative address in the audience at the UDS banquet.

$500 featured sponsorship — Company’s presenting logo will be on all players jerseys, and company’s presented signage will appear at each game and celebration banquet at the end of the season. Company will be mentioned in all press releases and marketing materials, with a company logo the UDS website with a link to the company’s homepage.

$100 table sponsorship — Company’s featured signage will appear at each game and the celebration banquet at the end of the season. The company will be mentioned in all press releases and marketing materials, and company’s logo will appear on the UDS website with a link to the company’s homepage.

Sponsorship support for challenger flag football and cheerleading squad will help UDS bring hope and independence into the lives of children just like Chuckie throughout our community, while associating company brands with a wonderful cause.

Direct donations can also be made. Put “Chuckie Magee” in the memo line. Donations should be made payable to United Disabilities Services, 1901 Olde Homestead Lane, Lancaster, PA 17601.

    Thank you for writing such a beautiful article about my son’s legacy and helping raise awareness about UDS challenger flag-football & cheerleading. UDS is such a wonderful organization helping people with disabilities.
