The following release was submitted this week by the Lititz Lions Club:

LR20141009_Halloween2013Fall is in the air and the Lititz Lions, Lioness and LEO clubs are ready to provide Lititz with an unforgettable Halloween Parade and Fall Fest, which will be held in the downtown area Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m.

Registration is being done before the event, so make sure you log onto the lititzlions.org website to download the form and mail it in by next Friday, Oct. 17.

As a reminder, this is a community based parade, different than most other parades in the area, so we do not allow businesses or politics to be involved. We encourage all community members, social or school groups, athletic teams or youth based groups to participate in the parade. Cash prizes will be awarded.

The Lititz Lions are very happy to announce that our emcee this year is none other than I Am FUN! With the Barnstormers just have clinched the Atlantic Division Championship, I Am FUN will be guiding us through the parade and bringing his excitement from the Barnstormers to Lititz! The Lititz Lions will have their always-popular food stand with hot dogs and kraut, hot chocolate, and lots of different pies throughout the parade time as well as into the afternoon.

We are excited to announce that there are many service and school groups, restaurants and retail shops participating in the Fall Fest that will take place on West Main Street and Klein Street (adjacent to Wilbur and Pork & Wally’s) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Lititz Leo Club will spearhead West Main Street with bounce houses, games and food stand. Several clubs will provide activities (games, face painting, etc.) along with great food vendors like Shorty’s Funnel Cakes, Bountiful Feast and KT Banik. On Klein Street, Pork & Wally’s, Greco’s, Wendy’s Cupcakes and Savory Gourmet will delight the crowd with yummy foods along with a dance performance from Studio Jo Creative Movement and music by the New Locals. Lots of fun activities will be provided on Klein Street as well.

We hope everyone will come out for this fun new fall event and look forward to a great day in Lititz!
