2nd Friday was rockin’

By on May 15, 2019

Although a rainy, early forecast threatened to damper the spirits of those who wanted to attend last week’s 2nd Friday, the rain and clouds rolled away, and made way to sunny skies and lots of people downtown taking in the sights and sounds.

On East Main Street, we ran into several local residents as well as tourists including Giti and Moe Shakaba and Hamid and Mina Farr, who traveled all the way from Pittsburg to visit Lancaster County. Naturally, their very first stop was Lititz! According to the two couples, the next day they were planning to see the Amish.

Countless downtown retailers also served as locations where patrons could enter to win a gift basket worth $1,300 and filled with products from the downtown shops.

The band Forgiven is always a crowd pleaser at Zum Anker Alley, and this month was no exception. Shown here is vocalist/guitarist Kevin O’Brassill, who helped whip the crowd into a rockin’ frenzy.

Members of Life Spring Fellowship handed out bottles of free water to thirsty patrons. It was a true family affair for Pastor John Knudson (left), his wife Crystal (right) and their son Ryan (middle).

Shown here is Warwick Junior Emma Morgan, who, with several of her classmates, was busy showing off their art to the public during last Friday’s event.
