On Dec. 9 and 10, the Warwick High School music department presented its winter holiday concert, “Wings of Joy.” The show featured the high school’s symphony orchestra, String Synergy, concert choir and holiday, winter and production companies. The middle school choruses also participated.

Many senior members of the high school ensemble performed solos during the concert.

Among the songs performed were “Sleigh Ride,” “Christmas Vacation,” “Mary Did You Know,” “Carol of the Bells,” “There is Faint Music,” “Tonight,” and several medleys. The concert culminated when former chorus members and friends were invited onstage to sing “The Hallelujah Chorus” with the concert choir, a beloved music department tradition.

Free punch and cookies were served at a holiday tea in the lobby following each show. The instrumental groups are under the direction of Ann M. Ahlers. The choral director is Debra A. Kline-Smith.

The next big project for the WHS music department will be the musical “Anything Goes,” set to hit the stage in mid-March. Ticket information will be available in February.
