After they visited their 100th bar in their quest to visit all bars in Lancaster County, Terry Ditzler and Garry Bertrand each picked their Top 10. Then they used a ranking system to narrow it down to their favorite bar.

“He does the arithmetic,” Ditzler says. “I just drink the beer.”

They picked The Bullfrog Inn in Bart Township as their top bar.

“It was the bar that best included not just us, but everyone sitting at the bar,” Bertrand says. “The bartender brought everyone into the conversation.”

Ditzler liked that the business’ longtime employees were engaging.

“They made you feel welcome,” he says. “The regulars made you feel welcome.”

Their other four favorites (in alphabetical order) are:

  • The Cat’s Meow in Manheim, 215 S. Charlotte St.
  • Columbia Kettle Works, 40 N. 3rd St., Columbia
  • Stanley’s Trailside Cafe, 392 E. Front St., Marietta
  • The White Swan, 1264 E. Newport Road, Rothsville
