The Semi-Chocolate Stroll is back!

By on February 20, 2019

United Zion Retirement Community (UZRC) is excited to once again be hosting the ever-popular Semi-Chocolate Stroll and silent auction on Feb. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., throughout its halls. The event is open to the public and a suggested minimum donation of $5 per person will be accepted at the main entrance to enjoy the treats on the tour.

Included in this year’s tour will be over 10 stops, from local area businesses and well as members from the UZRC Food and Nutrition Services department and other employees, offering an array of chocolate confections ranging from sweet to savory. New for this year: to-go containers will be available for purchase at the door.

Don’t like chocolate, but still want to participate? Silent auction donations have poured in from local community businesses and are sure impress. Gift certificates for restaurants and local attractions, framed artwork and children’s toys are just some of the goodies available if you’re the winning bidder.

“The event hasn’t happened in two years because of the renovations and construction project to our Healthcare area,” said Becky Link, Semi-Chocolate Stroll coordinator. “Now that our new apartments and healthcare extensions are complete, we’re happy to open our doors to the community and again host this exciting event. At previous strolls, we’ve had such positive response from past resident family members and the community alike. Now that our annual events are back on the calendar, we’re hoping for that same love and support.”

All proceeds from this event will go towards benevolent care at UZRC; these monies will enable UZRC to continue the same quality of care and daily assistance should a resident’s own resources become inadequate to cover the full cost of care.

United Zion Retirement Community is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community located at 722 Furnace Hills Pike, one mile north of the square in Lititz.
