Temple Avenue: jazz at the library

Vocalist McKenna Whisler (above) and co-founders Colin Mekeel and Jack Synoski will be performing as Temple Avenue at the Lititz Public Library on April 26.

The Lititz Public Library will welcome Temple Avenue on Thursday, April 26 as part of the library’s free, monthly concerts that are open to the public.

Temple Avenue is a jazz group that was formed six years ago. They play at festivals, swing dances, restaurants, churches, retirement communities and private events around the area.

The group features singer McKenna Whisler, a worship leader at the Worship Center. She joined the group two years ago. Completing the trio are co-founders Colin Mekeel, piano, and Jack Synoski, bass.

Mekeel is completing his degree at HACC Lancaster, while Jack is completing his degree at Temple University.

This young and energetic group are sure to delight audiences of all ages with their take on jazz classics as well as their fresh interpretation of many favorite jazz and swing tunes.

The concert is set to start at 7 p.m. Preregistration is requested by calling the library at 717-626-2255 or emailing register@lititzlibrary.
