Summer Arts series kicks off June 29 in New Holland

The New Holland Summer Arts series is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with a full slate of free concerts and events. All are held in New Holland’s Community Memorial Park, 400 E. Jackson St. All events are 7 to 9 p.m., unless otherwise indicated. This year’s schedule includes:

June 29 – Arts and Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

July 4 ­ –  New Holland Concert Band with fireworks following show

July 7 ­ – Summit Hill: bluegrass and gospel

July 10 ­-  Charlie Zahm: Celtic, American, and folk

July 13 ­ – Nomads: 50s rock & roll

July 14 – Sam Schmidthuber: country

July 17 ­ – Big Boy Brass: New Orleans style traditional brass band

Mitch and the Mood Swings will perform in the band shell at New Holland Community Park on Aug. 17 as part of the New Holland Summer Arts series. All concerts are free.

July 20 – Elvis and The Memphis Mafia

July 21 – ­ Temple Avenue: jazz quintet

July 24 ­ – Jubilation Jazz: gospel music with a big band sound

July 27 – ­ The New Individuals: covers from the 1960s and 70s

July 28 ­ – Servant Stage Company presents “Let Freedom Ring,” a rousing music celebration of the music of America

July 31 – ­ Conley & Watson: classic country duo

Aug. 3-  ­ John Bressler: piano, vocals, comedy

Aug. 4 ­ – West Chester Band

Aug. 7 – ­ CAISO Steel Drum Band: calypso island style music

Aug. 10 ­ – Polka Woo

Aug. 11 ­ – Vinegar Creek Constituency

Aug. 14 ­-  Den & Terry Duo

Aug. 17 ­ – Mitch and the Mood Swings: rock & roll, soul, Motown from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Aug. 18 ­-  Dreadnought Brigade: classic rock of the 60s and 70s

Sept.  2-  ­ Fiddlers Picnic from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There is a concession stand with hot and cold refreshments for sale at each show. Attendees should bring chairs or blankets for seating.
