By on September 4, 2019

The 8th annual Lititz Storytelling Festival will bring the entertaining wit and wisdom of internationally-acclaimed storytellers to the Lititz community for a two-day event, Sept. 27 and 28. Four award-winning storytellers, each with a unique storytelling content and style, will perform on Friday and Saturday.

Bil Lepp is one of the four story-spinners on this year’s slate.

Bil Lepp grew up in a family where it was always the responsibility of the listener to decide whether or not a story was true. He became adept at spinning tales and exaggerating circumstances. A nationally renowned storyteller and five-time champion of the West Virginia Liar’s contest, Lepp’s outrageous humorous tall tales and witty stories have earned the appreciation of listeners of all ages and from all walks of life.

Lepp is the author of three books of tall tales, 10 audio collections, a non-fiction book, and a novel. His first children’s book, “The King of Little Things,” received a PEN/Steven Krall Award and won the Gold Parent’s Choice Award.

The Lititz Storytelling Festival begins Friday at 7 p.m. with storytelling performances at The Sutter Inn. Festival headquarters open at the Lititz Elementary School at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., festival patrons will stroll between downtown Lititz venues for storyteller performances and workshops. The festival concludes Saturday evening with storytelling performances at the Warwick High School at 7 p.m.
