The 17th annual Rothsville Community Day was held Sept. 15, at Forney Field.

The day kicked off with a 5K Fun Run/Walk sponsored by WellSpan Family & Pediatric Medicine.

Free events included kids’ games and activities, music and food. The popular helicopter candy drop, sponsored by the Rothsville Ambulance Association, was a huge draw. The barrel train ride and bounce house also returned. In the afternoon, Steven Courtney delighted children of all ages with his original songs.

Adults and kids participated in an egg toss, wheel barrow race, and three legged race challenge.

The event was sponsored by Rothsville area churches (Jerusalem Lutheran, Millport Mennonite, St. Paul’s E.C., and Sunrise Fellowship) in conjunction with the Rothsville Fire Company and the Rothsville Ambulance Association.

A highlight of each year’s Community Day is when a helicopter “crop dusts” Forney Field with candy.

A mad scramble for candy, dropped by helicopter.

Everyone loves the barrel train.
