The Lancaster Celtic Arts Foundation invites the community near and far to attend the fifth annual Rose & Shamrock Festival and Feis, a three-day celebration of Irish, Scottish and Welsh music and culture in the heart of downtown Lancaster.

The event — which offers free admission — runs from Friday, Feb. 15 through Sunday, Feb. 17 at the Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott, Tellus 360, Annie Bailey’s Public House, and The Meduseld Meadery. Last year, the festival brought more than 2,500 people into the city.

This year, festival chairwoman Esther Pujol says they’re providing even more music, vendors and competitors, including more than 800 talented dancers, at the convention center, as well as concurrent events at several participating venues in the area.

Bagpipers will test their mettle in a solo event sanctioned by the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association. The event also includes dance demonstrations, instrument workshops, traditional cuisine, art, music and food competitions, and more.

Dublin 5

A full schedule of music culminates Saturday evening with a double bill featuring Dublin 5, a high-energy Celtic rock band from Annapolis, Md., and Lancaster’s own Ogham Stones. Their performance is the only part of the festival that requires tickets.

Tickets and more details on the festival are available online at
